Any site with a soil disturbance over 5,000 square feet that would require a construction permit.

We are located at 1516 Route 77, 1/4 mile south of the interesection of Route 540 and Route 77 in Upper Deerfield, Cumberland County.

| How long does it take to get a 251 plan certified?
|
The district has 30 days from the date of the submittal, but we try to have it done in less time.

| How many sets of plans are required?
|
The ideal submission includes one full set of plans and four copies of the soil erosion and sediment control sheets.

| Where do I get a copy of the Chapter 251 State Standards?
|
They are available at the Cumberland-Salem Conservation District office for $35.00 or we can mail them to you for $40.00.

| How do I get a letter of exemption?
|
Submit a request to the District with a copy of the site plan included. The fee is $75.00.

| Who does the check for the 251 Application get made out to?
|
The check should be made out to the Cumberland-Salem Conservation District.

| Does the Conservation District have soil surveys for Cumberland and Salem counties?
|
At the present time, surveys are in the process of being put on a CD, but are not yet available.

|
You can get your soil tested through the Rutgers Cooperative Extension Service at 856 451-2800 or 856 769-0090.
